Cherokee Industrial Corporation has partnered with Cherokee’s Washington High School and Western Iowa Tech Community College to construct a house. Students enrolled in the Basic Carpentry classes will actually construct a 2 BR/2 BA home with an attached 2 car garage. The full basement can be finished to include 2 additional bedrooms, a bathroom and a family room. Students successfully completing the course work earned dual high school and college credits and will graduate with a Basic Carpentry Certificate from WITCC. Course work and construction spanned the 2019-20 school year. This home is for sale and any profit from the sale of the home will benefit the Cherokee Education Foundation.

Cherokee Development LLC is a partnership between Cherokee Industrial Corp. and Cherokee Area Economic Development. Since 2014, this company has been working to expand housing options in Cherokee, Iowa.

  • Doherty Second Addition was developed with roads built and utilities installed. Today, 25 lots remain available for the construction of new homes by individuals or developers. These lots vary in size ranging from .25 to 1+ acres.
